You have two options when adding a merchant. You can either use our APIs (see our API docs), or you can add them via the partner portal. To add them via the partner portal, just head to Merchants > "+ Add a merchant"
And then follow the steps. Below are a few things to note when adding a merchant:
- If you'd like to add a sandbox merchant for testing, then under the Business Structure dropdown, select "Sandbox"
- All required fields are marked with an asterisk
ID verification
Every merchant signed up needs to complete ID verification. When adding a new merchant, you have two choices
- You can opt for us to send the company contact an email with a link to complete ID verification
- After the merchant has been added, you can copy this link and share it yourself
If you want us to send the email, just tick the "Send email for ID verification" checkbox
- If you want to send it yourself, then follow this guide
Adding bank accounts
Every merchant needs to have a verified bank account in order to receive funds. When adding a new merchant, there are a couple of options:
- If they bank with one of the main UK banks, we recommend you select "Ask merchant to add their bank account using online banking". This is the quickest and most accurate method.
Please note: If you would prefer to share a link with them directly, instead of them receiving an email from us, then you can skip this now and instead copy the link later. See this guide
- If they cannot add their bank using online banking, for example they don’t have online banking or don't bank with a supported bank, then you can instead add the bank details manually. In this case, you'll need to provide the bank details and a bank statement from the last 3 months.
